    • Edible flowers (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven and prepare cake pans:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix cake batter:

    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
    • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Bake the cakes:

    • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  4. Prepare frosting:

    • In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency by adding more powdered sugar if needed.
  5. Assemble the cake:

    • Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting evenly over the top. Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
  6. Decorate the cake:

    • Decorate the frosted cake with colorful sprinkles, chocolate Easter eggs, fresh fruits, and edible flowers for a festive touch. Get creative with the decorations to represent various Easter traditions from around the world.
